Back to School(Week 1)

We welcome our new CTBC International School students! The beginning of a new school year is always an exciting time, filled with fresh starts, new friendships, and lots of learning. For many students, it’s a chance to return to familiar classrooms and reconnect with friends. But for some, it’s the very first step into a big new world—especially for those just starting Grade One.
Grade One is a special and important year. It marks the beginning of a child’s formal learning journey. For many new students, this might be their first time in a big school building, wearing a uniform, or carrying their very own backpack. It can feel exciting and a little bit scary at the same time. That’s perfectly normal!
Teachers and older students play a big role in helping the new Grade Ones feel welcome. Smiles, kind words, and helping hands make a big difference. From learning where the bathroom is to figuring out how to line up, everything is new. But in just a few weeks, these young learners begin to find their way with confidence.
In Grade One, students learn to read full sentences, explore numbers, ask questions, and express their thoughts clearly. They learn how to be good classmates—taking turns, listening carefully, and helping each other. It’s a year full of growth, not just in academics, but in independence and responsibility too.
Back to school is not just about getting back to books—it’s about building a community. As the school welcomes a new group of Grade One students, it also welcomes fresh energy, curiosity, and joy. With support from teachers, families, and friends, these students will grow, learn, and shine throughout the year.
